WiFi: no hardware installed
Hi All,
I’ve had this issue for awhile. I thought it was the OS and installed a new SSD with a new copy of High Sierra.
it’s the “no WiFi hardware installed” problem.
It’s not consistent. I’ll reset the SMC and zap the PRAM and it will work for awhile. And then the WiFi will stop working. It will say it’s connected but it’s not. In the network pref it will say its off but won’t turn on.
i can restart and most times it works again but eventually stops.
sometimes on restart it says no WiFi hardware installed.
I've re-seated the WiFi cable.
I’ve deleted these files in library/system config:
com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
com.apple.wifi.message-tracer.plist
NetworkInterfaces.plist
it works for awhile after that but then comes back. I can’t seem to find a rhyme or reason.
it’s an older MBP but has been very reliable and I need it to work!
appreciate any help.
