Suspicious pop-up window saying congrats Apple user, I am winner.... While I was using the search bar and engine on my phone's Safari App.

An hour ago, I was definitely using the search bar to open a website, and or as a search engine to get results, using the Safari App on my iPhone.


Then out of the blue,


This suspicious looking pop-up of a small window popped up, with the following message that I copied and pasted what it said, directly below.

Dear Apple User,Thursday, January 30, 2020Congratulations Apple user! Every Thursday we randomly select a few lucky users, and today it’s you!!Click OK to answer our questions and complete the survey to get your $1000 Walmart Gift Card or $1000 Visa Gift Card. Spend your $1000 in stores or online!

I have found info on this being malware, or virus spyware or something not good to have as a random pop-up that looks like a scam to get me to fill out the survey/prize claim forms for purpose of skimming receiving my personal info from my answers on the forms.

I don't know what is going on exactly but I need help with getting rid of this virus, and or spyware, malware, phishing scam, from my iPhone ASAP!!! Please!

So far I am only finding info on how to resolve this issue for is Mac, Android devices, and again on PC or Mac computers. No info or instructions on how to get it off a iPhone iOS of any version or iPhone models.


Please if you have any tips, ideas, or information or can point me in a direction of where I might find the helpful information instructions to get this deleted off my iPhone and resolving this particular issue.


Open to hearing all possible ideas, tips and any other suggestions.

Yes you are brilliant, definitely this is a cyber attack and these kind of attacks known as phishing attacks as it’s may trying to get your personal credentials.


so please neglect this message and in your safari browser , close all the windows that you opened for now .


Give a restart to your phone and you can use your safari browser . You may not get the pop up again .


In order to get rid of these viruses keep updating your IOS for the latest .

Try double clicking the Home button or swipe up from the bottom of the screen and swipe Safari upwards. Go to Settings/Safari and clear History and Website Data. Open Safari and test.
