create boot usb in linux

My macbook will not properly boot and I would like to create a bootable

usb, but only have a pc to do so. The pc runs both windows10 as well as

fedora so I can use either...

Assuming you need to create a bootable device (flash memory USB or SD card) for the purpose of installing macOS, a Mac is required.

You have two maybe three options for booting an online macOS installer using Internet Recovery Mode:

Reinstall the current or most recently installed version of macOS (this option may not work depending on what has happened to the local copy of macOS on the SSD):

Command + R


Install the most recent version of macOS (currently macOS 10.15 Catalina):

Command + Option + R


Install the version of macOS which shipped with your laptop:

Command + Option + Shift + R



Also see if your laptop qualifies for this free Apple SSD repair program. If it does qualify I highly recommend you take advantage of it as Apple will either update the SSD's firmware or will replace the SSD.
