Screen protector - yes or no

Ok I've had a screen protector on since day 1 and I've just removed it to fit another. Problem is that the naked screen is SOOOO nice. Now debating if to leave it naked.

I have a bumper type case so if put down, neither face will touch the surface.

Who has a naked screen, and is it really mote tolerant to scratches??

I had Power Support on my 3G. With a low res screen, it looked fine. I tried Zagg on my 4 and after a day removed it. It looked like %^$#. I've always had my phone in a case, then the cased phone in a leather pouch when not being used. I love the look and feel of the new screen and it's not likely I'll scratch it, so I'm not going to put one on at the moment. If I do decide to use a screen protector, it will be the Power Support one coming out in the next week or two.

Mine took about four days to go back to normal - after two days it still had a few (very small) bubbles, but after four days it was as if it had been applied at the factory. The slightly tacky feel took about another week of use to diminish.

When I first applied it I thought it would never be as good as other protectors - I was wrong!

I think the problem that some of you guys who are against screen protectors, like the ones who say things like "I had one installed or I put one on and hated the feel of it, didn't feel/look the same" are ones who put on or had installed those ones similar to the Zagg Invisible Shield. Those types, usually wet apply ones, are really are about the only ones that cause the look and feel of the screen to change. They are tacky feeling, have problems with giving an orange peel texture, and a pain overall to put on and overpriced. If you just buy almost any static cling or other type of dry install clear one, sometimes even the freebies that come with caes, can be awesome screen protectors and have no affect at all on the screen in looks or feel.

I have a screen protector that I paid $8 for and I put on the whole face of my Sony PSP that I bought on release day in March 2005 and it's a clear dry install type and it has never came off. My PSP including the screen protector looks brand new, no scuffs or scratches, and it never started peeling off, never affected the look of it etc. You just have to pick up a nice clear protector that's not a wet install and you won't even be able to tell it's there, and you can be rest assured your phone won't get scratched so easily.

I never scratched or broke my 3G but my I4 got a scratch somehow ( I have no idea how it happened as I am pretty careful with it). It was a long scratch, almost the length of the screen. I thought it was a crack at first but the tech at the apple store said it was scratched. They replaced it no problem, but the screen DOES scratch. I have a screen protector and case in route as it finally shipped this week.

"My suggestion: try the SGP Steinheil Ultra Crystal. You will be amazed, very hard to spot you have a film protector."

I was waiting for the Power Support screen protector but it won't be available until next week so instead I just got the SGP Ultra Oleophobic Protection film. It is wonderful and you are right about it being very hard to spot. It does cover the front facing camera but it does not seem to effect the image.
