Transfer Speed of Music to Apple Watch 5

Is it just me somehow or does it ALWAYS take forever to download music from iPhone 7+ to AW5?? It can take an hour to transfer just one album. I am on my home wifi and bluetooth is on. Both phone and watch are on their chargers and sitting right next to each other. I have an Apple music subscription. I can download an album to my phone in seconds but transferring it from phone to watch can take an hour!?!

Does the transfer happen via bluetooth or wifi? Any tips on how to speed this process up? Thanks!

After researching this, I tested turning Bluetooth off in Settings on the phone before transferring music to the watch. This forces the transfer to use the faster Wi-Fi instead of defaulting to the slower Bluetooth. This definitely speeds up the music transfer. Remember to turn Bluetooth back on after the music transfer.
