I’m not receiving notifications from my child’s iPhone

I set up family sharing and my son is requesting to download apps. I’m not getting the notifications for some reason. Any ideas? Thanks!

Make sure you child is using this process for Ask to Buy --> Request and make purchases with Ask to Buy - Apple Support
