Logitech Slim Keyboard randomly disconnects from iPad Pro 12.9 when iPad is turned on

This issue started after some recent IOS update. Currently running IOS 13.3.1. The Logitech slim connecter uses the smart connector on the iPad Pro and doesn’t use a separate power source or Bluetooth. The issue occurs random ally sometime when the iPad is first turned on, the iPad fails to recognize the keyboard. I have to magnetically disconnect and reconnect the keyboard to the iPad for it to be recognized again. This appears to be an iPad issue as I had a spare brand new keyboard and it’s doing the same thing.

Anyone else experience this?

We are experiencing the exact same issue of the iPad Pro losing its connection to the Slim Logitech Keyboard. This was NOT a problem before going to iOS 13.3.1. Therefore, it absolutely appears to be an Apple issue, not a Logitech issue. My prior iOS version was probably 11 and then I skipped to 13. This is extremely frustrating. Has anyone talked with Logitech or with Apple about this issue? The connection is never lost during an active session. It only occurs when the iPad Pro has been “asleep”. However, it occurs intermittently, in that sometimes it is still connected when it “wakes up” and sometimes it does not. Another key piece of information is that if the connection is lost and I turn the iPad Pro completely off and restart it without touching the keyboard, it will reconnect fine. The ONLY time this occurs is when the iPad Pro has gone to “sleep”.

There is a similar thread on the Logitech support community:

https://support.logi.com/hc/en-au/community/posts/360037739594-iPad-Pro-Slim-Combo-doesn-t-connect-after-opening-the-folder

I raised a support ticket with Logitech and after getting me to try all the usual things they escalated and eventually sent this reply: “I would like to inform you that we are currently working on the issue with iOS engineers. The issue will be fixed in the upcoming iOS update. However at the moment we will not be able to assure a specific timeline.“

I have installed iPadOS 13.4 beta 3 and the problem is still there. The release notes for 13.4 beta 4 do not indicate any fix for external keyboards, so there is no indication when this might be fixed.
