Watch not pairing

My series 5 Apple Watch is having trouble pairing to my iPhone 8. My iPhone is updated fully. When I go to pair my watch through the app it syncs but says the watch needs to update. I choose to update it but then another screen pops up saying everything is up to date and I cannot move forward pairing my watch. Please help.

Apple watch pairing issue I am unable to pair my Apple watch series 4 with iPhone 7plus. It tried to pair then a software update pops up and it never updates it not pairs it. Any suggestions?

new apple watch 6 will not update so I cannot pair to iphone. When I try to pair my new apple watch 6 with my iphone 6 plus, the watch app says the watch needs to be updated. When I select to update the watch, the app says activating watch then returns to the pairing screen. The watch has a circular pattern that describes the watch but nothing happens. Is the new watch broken (out of the box) or have I missed something?
