Care to elaborate a bit? What sort of odd characters? Is it all gibberish or just some characters that are incorrect, amid a mostly correct text?
Do other things print correctly? I am guessing some font issue.
Does it print correctly if you Save as PDF?
You may try deleting and re-adding the printer.

Hi Luis:
If I highlight the text from the Apple Support website and paste it into Pages it prints fine.
If printed directly from the support website some text is legible, but many characters are distorted others have a little vertical line below them. Capitol M is upside down. There are left and right carets interspersed in the document.
I agree that it may be a font issue. Is there a way to change the default font that Safari uses when viewing and printing web pates?
Thanks
Bob
