IPhone Mail App not showing on full screen

I have an iPhone 7 on iOS 13.3 and lately, my apple mail app has been truncating the screen when I am in the app by 1/4 of an inch. I have reset my settings, rebooted my phone, deleted and reinstalled the app, and it still shrinks the bottom part of the screen. Is there anyway to get the mail app to use the full screen again? (see screenshot of issue).
