MacBook Pro 2017 Display Weird Colors After Warranty End!

Hello,

After 3-4 months my warranty ended, my MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) display started showing colors differently. It did not got hit nor dropped.

I have already checked all the SVRAM/NVRAM reset, software checks, hard format etc. I have tried the device with external display and there are no problems.

I have gave my computer to Authorized Premium Apple Service and they told me that they also could not define the root cause and informed me that I had to pay for the new display price. They also told me that the device is very clean and they are seeing this kind of problem for the first time.

If I was the one who caused this display problem, I would be paying the price and would not be writing to get support.

I woke up 1 morning and saw my MacBook Pro's display got crazy, out of the blue.

I am very disappointed that, Apple is trying to charge me for the display which does not work properly all of a sudden, just after a short period of my warranty end.

Is this a part of planned obsolescence?

Could anyone from Apple Warranty Team support me on this case? In order to change my display free of charge? Or any other solutions?

Thank you

Can

I do not recommend opening the laptop as the internal components are very fragile and difficult to work on. It is very easy to damage the cables and connectors and disconnecting the battery is different than all the other laptops. The AASP should have tried reseating the display cable as part of the troubleshooting process. It is unlikely the cable is loose since it is held in place by a bracket & screws.

It is unfortunate the laptop had to fail so soon yet so far outside of the warranty period. I would also be frustrated by the situation.

Hello,

The color gray & white got affected minimum, comparing with other colors. When I open an app which includes colors, the problem goes on. (E.g. TextEdit app does not get affected)

I assume this is a connectivity issue within the display area (Not the motherboard area). But I do not know how could/should I open the display and make sure about the cables.

Like I said, I expect Apple team to support me about the display change.
