Remove/ Erase device in find my
Hi what’s the difference between erase and remove the device in find my iphone? I just lost my iPhone 7.

Erase will issue a command to wipe the data from the phone the next time it connects to the Internet.
Removing the device does not remove any data from it, but will remove the activation lock so that someone else can erase and use it.
