Turn on notifications while phone is locked

My phone isn’t ringing when it’s locked. I have not turned on bedtime or do not disturb. How donI get my phone to ring when it’s locked?

Notifications when my phone is locked When my phone is locked I have no notification. The phone does not vibrate or ring. I have to hit the sleep button to see the notification

Check the mute switch. It's the slider above the volume buttons.
