Hi there!
i have an LG smart TV. I’m aware there is no turning off the Apple TV, therefore I have to put it to sleep. When doing so I always get this “no signal for current device. Check the status of external equipment. Try other available outputs” and have to put to sleep numerous times until it does not come up anymore. Anyone have this issue? Found a solution? Anything is helpful at this point.

It is off and the status light on the Apple TV will no longer be illuminated.

That's actually expected. When the Aplpe TV is put to sleep, it no longer provides a signal, so your TV will issue that message since it is no longer getting a signal from it.
What exactly are you expecting to happen?
Are you expecting your TV to change to a different input? Or simply turn off?
If you want the Tv to turn off at the same time you put the A0pple TV to sleep, then the TV needs to support CEC.
