when putting apple tv to “sleep” i get "no signal for current input devie" message

Hi there!

i have an LG smart TV. I’m aware there is no turning off the Apple TV, therefore I have to put it to sleep. When doing so I always get this “no signal for current device. Check the status of external equipment. Try other available outputs” and have to put to sleep numerous times until it does not come up anymore. Anyone have this issue? Found a solution? Anything is helpful at this point.

“It” is what? The Apple TV?

It is off and the status light on the Apple TV will no longer be illuminated.

If you also want you TV to turn off you can change the settings:
