Pages layout view options

The top of my single-page Pages layout is locked to the top of the window under the ruler. How do I unhitch it from the top?

There are multiple options listed best to worst:

  1. Left click on the exposed part of the object, and drag downward from the ruler.
  2. Click on the object, and then control-click to get the secondary menu. Now choose Align Objects > Middle. The object will now jump to the center of your document page.
  3. Click on the object and use the down arrow keys to move it from underneath the ruler.
