apple ROTATE COUNTERCLOCKWISE ONLY fetish?

guys,

what is this deal where when i want to rotate an image in PREVIEW or in PHOTOS app on OSX i have only an icon to ROTATE COUNTERCLOCKWISE? i saw this again in my PHOTOS app on my iphone.

in iPhone OS i have to go to EDIT > then some kind of edit something or other > then i have to click the ROTATE COUNTERCLOCKWISE button THREE TIMES to rotate clockwise?

is there some kind of OPTION KEY functionality that changes this to clockwise? or some ability to ask it to give me also pretty please the option to ROTATE CLOCKWISE?

doesn't anyone park a car? do these guys rotate around the block with THREE LEFT TURNS to get to a parking spot?

i can't figure out if i feel dumber working around this for fifteen years without asking about it or having to actually ask.

am i missing something?

does anyone understand that if i have to scan a 50 page document that i have hundreds of clickthroughs added to my workflow to get them rotated properly and then i have to SAVE EACH AND EVERY document when i want to save them instead of having a SAVE ALL function in Preview/

don't mean that to sound negative just trying to get a POINT across.

THANKS

In macOS Preview

Press the option/alt key and the button will change to clockwise.

If you have several documents open in Preview you can Select All (Command- A)

and press the rotate button and all documents will rotate. If you want to do another multiple rotate

you need to Select All again.

If you want to save all images at once you will need to Select All and use the Export Selected Images.

Or simply press Command-Option-Q and that should save all your edits and quit Preview.

ach. now i feel like a dope

but this is colossally dumb. why not just put two icons there to minimize the keystrokes? it’s like i can’t tell which one to click?

ALSO. why is counterclockwise privileged with the icon and clockwise has to act second fiddle? is this some kind of counterculture thing where counterclockwise has been historically underrepresented or something?

OK. but this is almost onion-like.

less what is less?

how about less carpal tunnel and reducing my keystrokes?

this is not an insignificant issue. if you have 100 (or even a thousand) images you are increasing the number of keystrokes you need to effectuate by 1 to 3 x 100 or x 1000.

this is 100 - 300 keystrokes on the low end and 1000 - 3000 on the high end.

@eau rouge roger that. it’s just at some point it becomes minimalizarion ad absurdam.

i used to have a mini ipod player. the thing was perfection. but if they made me hold down a button to move forward a track or move back a track or volume up or volume down - while the other direction behaved normally everyone would think the designer was on acid.

at some point you almost have to vent about it unless you’re perfectly content acting like a monkey 24/7.

well i did miss this about ctrl L or ctrl R. that would be a /huge/ help. THANK YOU!

but it does point out how silly it is to have one icon for counterclockwise.

i mean it is totally counterintuitive and really basically stupid.

i mean there is something wrong with a UI that only has a counterclockwise icon.

i appreciate the help (SERIOUSLY) but you’d have to agree it is a bit crazy i have to go to the iOS forum to see if there is in fact no solution to problem on the iPhone.
