FCPX Editing question: (please only respond if you have sane advice)
I seem to have a phantom track on my timeline. The clips on the timeline end at 2.30min, but the whole video comes out over 6hrs! I can't find any other clip, what the heck is going on?
Mac Pro, macOS 10.12
This bit of the interface is the Browser
Move the playhead in the timeline to the beginning of the project and press the I key. Move it to the end of the project and press the O key so it looks like this
Export. It should export just the selected section. You can check this in the export window.

Not sure exactly what part you refer to as the Browser, but it shows as over 6hrs long above the timeline where the name of the project is.
I don't know how to set in and out points in a project to export just that part if that's what you mean. I've exported the whole project, re-imported it and cut off the phantom tail. This was a first cut so not a great solution...
YEESSSS! This has done it! There was a clip positioned really far in high up above the timeline hours in which I couldn't grab!
Checking in the clip log I could see it. THANK YOU. Now next question would be how did it get there, but I'll save you that...
Also: press command-shift-2 to open the Timeline Index. Do you see anything there that may have a six hour length?
How long does the project show in the browser?
In the timeline mark in and out points at the beginning and end at 2:30 and export.
Here is another suggestion: press command-A to Select All; command-C to Copy; create a new project, and command-V to Paste.
Does the new project also show as 6 hours, or 2:30 minutes?
