What does 502 BAD Gateway mean

I try to go to.a site and it says 502 bad gateway.

It means a server between the router you're using and that site received an invalid message from a server it was attempting to communicate with.


As if one server asked "what time is it" and the other server answered "tomato".


If it's happening on just that one site there are a few things you can do: wait a moment and try again, quit Safari and try again, restart your router and try again... etc.
