Old iPhone 4 for music only

I've been using my old iphone 4 for music at my office. Today it wouldn't let me sign in and said I needed to activate it. If I activate it, won't it deactivate my current iPhone?

No it won't, but you don't need to be signed in to play music or to use it as a phone.
