macbook won't update 10.15.3- just keeps advising a restart. Any ideas?
MacBook Pro 13", OS X 10.10
Hi my MacBook pro is giving m issues with updates.
In "About" it says I am up to date with iOs 10.14 (an app I want to install requires 10.15) so I downloaded the new update from the apple site but when I click on the file to install I get a message telling me I need 10.15 to install it?? See attached image.
Please advise?
Regards
Dan
Hi Luis,
Tried for the second time since my first attempt and still getting the "requested version is not available" pop up. Is the problem that I am in SA? Is it not available her for some reason? That doesn't seem right...
That is because "update" is when you go from, say, 10.4.3 to to 10.4.6 (subversions of the same OS).
When you move to a new major version (like from Mojave to Catalina) this is called an "upgrade" and it is a new install.
Thanks, no its my personal internet connection. Same one Ive used for every update and upgrade Ive done. No firewalls or proxies that Ive intentionally set up... :P Thanks. I'll check out another forum post for a possible solution.
1) Download the 10.15.3 Combo Update
2) If it still fails, restart in Safe Mode and try running the Combo
3) If it still fails, run Etrecheck and post its full report here.
The Update is for getting Catalina up to 10.15.3.
You need the full Catalina installer.
Go to the App Store, search for Catalina
Hi Luis,
I just tried to download the upgrade from the app store and it tells me that its not available...?
and that I am 'up to date' please advise further... :P
Thanks.
where do I find the combo update?
that did it thanks!
You do not have enough free space on your drive. You need to clear up some space.
Thanks Luis- all working now
Thank you kindly. :) Seems a bit ridiculous that it doesn't just come up when I click 'update' from "About this mac" :P
ah... thanks Luis! Very much appreciate the education.
