Does Pages have any way to prevent breaking Asian text across lines?

I'm creating a document in which several Japanese words and phrases appear. When I export this document as an ebook, the Japanese strings can break across lines as the document reflows; for example:

...a new type of fountain pen burst onto the market. Called “pocket pens” (ポケットペ

ン, pokettopen), these pens appeared...

in HTML, I can prevent these breaks by enclosing the Japanese text in a <span> tag:

<span style="white-space: nowrap;">ポケットペン</span>

Is there any way I can do this in Pages?
