SIDE BUTTON ENDS CALLS
How do I turn off the side button from ending calls?
Settings > Accessibility > Side button, make sure the option to press and hold to to speak is off. Should take care of it for you.

What version of iPhone do you have? What are you trying to do with the side button while in a call?
I have an XS Max, but it's also on the 11. I don't like that it ends my call if I hit the button. Can that be disabled? The press and hold to speak is off.
Fixed it!! Turned that feature on and off again and out worked.
