Weather app not updating my current location

When I open my weather app it shows my current weather as five days ago! I’ve tried deleting the app on my iPad but am not able to do that. Neither I’d there an option for me to change my primary location. When I look at other locations they are all updated with the current weather. I’ve also noticed the keep sending me notifications to “upgrade” which I take as code words for “pay for it”. So maybe they’re try to force me to pay for it. No thanks. Any suggestions for how to fix it?
