Why am I gettting "No location found" when trying to add a location to not notify me

When I am trying to add a location to the notifications so I am not notified, I get "No Location Found". Both when I choose "My location" and when I try to add the address manually.

iPad, iPadOS 16

rfaulk0831,

Thanks for providing those additional details. Going forward, is this a Focus that you're trying to set up? If so, do you have Location Services enabled in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services?

We ask as certain apps and features may not work unless Location Services is enabled.

For help with checking these settings, check out this link here: Turn Location Services and GPS on or off on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you've confirmed that all the settings are enabled and set up correct, we'd recommend reaching out to Apple Support for further assistance at this link here: Get Support - Apple

Take care!

Hello rfaulk0831,

Let's use the steps below to make sure your devices are up to date:

1. Back up your device using iCloud or your computer.
2. Plug your device into power and connect to the internet with Wi-Fi.
3. Go to Settings > General, then tap Software Update.
4. If you see more than one software update option available, choose the one that you want to install.
The Settings app on iPhone showing options to update to iOS 15.7 or iOS 16.

5. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now. If you don't know your passcode, learn what to do.

You can also find those steps in this resource: Update your iPhone or iPad

If your devices are up to date, let's also restart:

Restart your iPhone

Restart your iPad

Updating and restarting can help to isolate a potential software conflict.

Should that still persist, does this occur with both mobile data and while connected to another Wi-Fi network?

Are you able to use other location-based apps or features without any difficulties, such as Maps?

Let us know, and we'll keep moving forward based on those details.

SMH.

Phone is kept up to date. Just got new iPad, it is up to date (first thing I did).

Rebooted. Because I am an IT guy and I know how often that fixes it.

Using "My Location" on WiFi.

Using "My Location" WiFi disabled.

Same results using an address from a contact on both WiFi and not on WiFi.

Manually typed in an address, and this time, it worked. (Haven't changed anything, last restart was last week when I was troubleshooting). I have the address I needed in there (last week, not there anymore) but not sure why the others are failing.

You can tell your devices to notify you when they are left behind. When you leave them at home, they won’t notify you. You can add a location like work or someplace your staying for a week so they don’t notify you. When I select “Locations” and try to add a location it returns “No location found” whether I choose “My location” or if I manually put in an address. How can this be helpful if it won’t let you actually add any additional locations?
