Intercom not showing notifications option in home app

Hi,


I am setting up a ‘home’ for the family and I’m experimenting before adding them. For some reason I don’t have the option to turn on intercom notifications? Is this correct with 1 person? Thank you

It sounds like you have some questions about setting up Intercom with your HomePod. We will be happy to help.


To set your HomePod up as an intercom, follow the following steps: Use HomePod as an intercom


For notifications from Intercom, try this:


  • Open the Home App while logged into the main account that setup the HomePod device.


  • Click on the House icon in the upper left hand corner and then select 'Home Settings'


  • Select the person you want to receive notifications. Also, make sure location services is set to “While Using” for the Home App under Settings > Privacy > Location Services > Home


  • Enable “Add and Edit Accessories” the select 'Back' and 'Done'


  • Next go into Home App on the person's device you just selected and look for HomePod. Once there, press and hold on it until you see a menu pop up. From there, tap on Settings > Intercom and then turn on the settings you want.
