Finder can't group file properly

Hello! My Finder can't group the files properly. All files type except folder are group as "Other". This problem always happened after updated macOS from AppStore (since I tried update in about 2016) and never happened if I installed macOS as a clean install.

I tried to check the problem with makes a new user, but the error didn't happen and the files have grouped properly. Any solution?

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.15

So what are your View options set as.

Have you opened System Preferences> Spotlight> Search Results and made sure that Spotlight is set to include

images and movies in its search results. If they have not been indexed correctly then they may not display in the correct grouping.

How did you remove CleanMyMac, it is not enough just to delete the app, you have to uninstall it thoroughly,

get instructions from the developer.

Do you have any other third party apps installed that may stop the Finder from performing correctly.

As these forum pages are not cluttered with the same problem you are experiencing then it is most likely something that is unique to you and your set up. So if you have customised your mac out of the usual Finder preferences and view options

please tell us.

Your post more or less contains the answer in itself.

Since a clean install does not show the problem, and an update does, it stands to reason that something that you have installed affects how the Finder groups files.

Did you by any chance install er... "cleanmymac"? This hedious software appears every day on this forum associated with all sorts of problems.

Please run the diagnostic tool Etrecheck and post its report here so we can look for other possible causes.

It is "never" cleanmymac, but somehow it seems to always be there...

This hedious program has been hurting users left and right, and somehow continues to enlist more victims every day.

You disabling your mac's excellent built-in security and then compounding the damage by installing creepy software like "cmm"...

This program should never be allowed anywhere near your mac (or any mac). The first rule of keeping a sane mac is not to install junk.

Even if you uninstall this, there is no way to know the extent of the damage it may already caused. You could try uninstalling, and then maybe fixing things by rerunning the 10.15.3 Combo Update.

In the end, a clean install is probably in order.
