sidecar not working on my iPad(5th generation)

I cannot use my iPad as a secondary display even when it is not even 2 years old and am missing out on these feature.why??sidecar is not working on my iPad(5th gen)

Sidecar is not available for many older iPads including not being available for the 2017, 5th generation iPad.

Sorry.

Sidecar is only available to iPads that can use the various versions of the Apple Pencil.

Look at the apps Astropad and Duet Display that will work with your iPad and Mac.
