Is there any way to have a crescendo alarm on the iPhone?
I want to be able to select a song or any soundtrack and when the alarm goes off it starts very quietly.
If the alarm is not stopped, it would get louder.
I've tried making an mp3 file with a fade in but the iphone seems to play it loudly anyway.
I've also checked that the iPhone isn't set to play all tracks at the same volume, so it's not that.

If you have a Mac, you can use GarageBand or Logic Pro X to create a ringtone. These apps can definitely have it fade in as well. You can read more about this here:

There also may be a ringtone you could purchase that has the sound you are looking for. You can read about purchasing ringtones here:

You may also want to check the App Store for an app that may do this as well.

Hi and thanks for the reply.
I made a ringtone that starts very quietly and gets louder over time so I don't get a jarring wake up alarm.
The problem is when I assign it as a song to wake up to, it starts at full volume. Even though the track starts very quietly.
sound check is set off in the settings, so it's not that.
It's as though the alarm app auto increases the volume.
I can turn down the volume when I set the alarm but the app seems to keep the music at that same volume.
The apps seems to keep the music at a constant level despite what was recorded.
Any help would be appreciated.

To verify, how did you attempt to make the ringtone for your iPhone? Make sure you’re using the steps in the link provided above. Here’s the article once more for your convenience:

To add a fade in to a song in GarageBand, you can use the steps here:
Add and adjust automation points
Then export it as a ringtone and see if this works.
