10.15.3 update killed my new keyboard!

I am not sure what is going on, but I just updated Catalina to 10.15.3, and the 2 month old Apple Keyboard is totally unresponsive. Fortunately I have my old keyboard, that works fine (but it has a sticky space bar, thus my replacement). I have tried plugging in the old keyboard to different ports, including one that works for the old board. Nothing. I tried plugging the old board in to the port on the new board, and again nothing. Maybe the new keyboard failed and it is a coincidence that this happened at exactly the same time as my update, but that so seems way to coincidental.


Anyone else having problems? Got a suggestion?

OK, I have a partial fix. First of all, I tried the ideas offered by ria36, to no avail. But I have now plugged the problematic keyboard in to my OWC thunderbolt dock, one of the USB ports on that, and the keyboard WORKS!!! Wow... even weirder/better, I just now plugged the board back in to one of the USB ports on the back of the computer, and it ALSO works now. Something about this seems to have woken up the keyboard. Weird, but at the moment I am happy again.


But if anyone knows what happened, I would be curious!
