How do I connect the text messages I receive on my iPhone to the iMessage app on my iMac?

Hope you are using the same Apple ID on both iPhone and Mac. Only then it will work
on your iPhone, Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding > [Select your Mac and enable]
