iCloud Automatic Backup While Using Wireless Charging Pad

Dialog on iCloud Backup screens says "Automatically back up .....when this iPhone is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi."

Will Auto backups be done when not plugged in, and wireless charging is used? I have met all the other conditions (locked,connected to wi-fi.) It appears that the lightning charger and cable must be connected to back up to iCloud. Can anyone confirm this?

I have only had the wireless charger for 2 days and when I look at the report on my phone it appears to not have backed up in 2 days.

All I use with my iPhone XS is a Belkin wireless charger and my phone backups every night while it’s sitting on that wireless charger.

What happens if you put yours on the wireless charger and manually run a backup from it?

Manual backup worked fine however I was not on the wireless charger. I will just take note of the backup log and see if it backs up overnight on the wireless pad as it always did when using the Apple standard lightning cable to the 18 watt charger /adapter (iPhone 11 Pro Max) . I have only been using the wireless charger for 2 nights.
