I have a Ipad mini, with an activation lock on the appleid. The appleid is an old one, which is locked for security reasons, and the related phone number is no longer valid, so I am not able to get it reset...
Any other ways to have the appleid re-activated

The iPad is locked with Activation Lock. There is no way around unlocking Activation Lock without inserting the device’s associated Apple ID. If this is not an option you will have to find the original receipt for the device that clearly shows the serial number. Once you have this document then bring the receipt and iPad into an Apple retail location.
