PCI Serial Port Card (DB9 style, not USB) Compatible with 2019 Mac Pro

Has anyone found a PCI serial port card (the DB9 classic serial port style, not USB) that is compatible with Mac OS and the 2019 Mac Pro?

I have some old serial gear and would prefer a hardware card versus a collection of USB to serial adapters.

Use a terminal server? Those are external (“serial router”) boxes with the serial controller embedded, with a network connection to the host. These were more common years ago, but some models and vendors are still around. Over the years, Xyplex, DEC, Cisco, Lantronix, Digi, MRV, and others, have all have had options here.
