need to connect a USB-C drive to a computer that only has a thunderbolt 2/mini display port. (usb 2.0 ports are shot). How can I make this happen?
My reasarch has not lead to any adapters and the cables that are USB-C male to Thunderbolt 2 male are not compatible with Hard drives.
Any ideas?
I think you're out of luck because the Female USB-C, unless you want to build one yourself...

Thanks. Yes and it won't work with hard drives. I'm guessing there's some kind of inherent incompatibility between thunderbolt 2 and USB-C, hence the lack of adapters.

You've posted to the forum area for the 12" Retina MacBooks. They have one USB-C port and it is not Thunderbolt capable. No adapter can make it so.
