MacBook Pro Battery Aftermarket - Reference Code: PPT004

Am I able to use the battery in question indefinitely with diagnostic reference code: PPT004. Would there be any potential damage to the logic board in the long run?

TL;DR Changed Late 2013 MBP 15" (11,3) battery to aftermarket. I am getting 6 hours use (fine by me), but the battery will jump from ~ 16% to 7% and hold a disproportional discharge term @ 7%.

Apple's diagnostics do not always work properly with third party batteries, but since you are experiencing some odd behavior this battery may actually have a valid defect which will most likely just get worse. I doubt it would damage the Logic Board, however, if the battery would end up swelling it could physically damage the trackpad and the Top Case and Bottom Case. Personally I think you should get the battery exchanged while the battery is still under warranty.

The quality of third party Lithium-ion batteries is awful even when purchased from a reputable vendor such as OWC. I personally will not use a third party Lithium-ion battery unless there is no way to get an original battery from the original manufacturer (Apple in this case). If Apple cannot supply a battery, then I would get one from OWC and if OWC doesn't have one, then I would try iFixIt.
