I want to use icloud like dropbox where certain files will just be stored in the cloud. For instance right now I am scanning a bunch of old file cabinets and I don't want that on my computer. I just want it in icloud.
iCloud is a syncing system, not an external hard drive. You can't select what files will be stored in iCloud and not on your computer, even if you choose Optimize storage. Dropbox or One Drive can do what you want. iCloud can't.
