Apple TV log in

Cannot log in to Apple TV on my TV set - just end up in an endless loop that keeps asking for password. and returns to login page when I try to play a selection. Never asks for verification code

Hello,

This sounds like it is related to Two-Factor Authentication. You will need to generate a secure code and type it after your password. Example: password123456

This worked but instructions not all that clear. The code has to be generated on the phone or iPad but only after the first part of the password is entered since the code will likely expire if generated before starting to enter the password because the Apple TV interface at least on my Apple TV is very cumbersome and entering data is slow.
