iPhoto was discontinued by Apple almost 4 years ago. iPhoto will not run on Catalina (macOS 10.5). The current application is Photos. It will open the photos library saved by iPhoto. If it didn't do that automatically, hold down the option key while opening the Photos app and it will give you the option of what library to open.
