iPhone won’t load internet pages after a while over WiFi

Since September I’ve been having this problem with all my apple devices (iPhone SE, iPad 6, iPhone 6s) but mainly on my iPhone 6s; when I’m connected to WiFi after a while it will stop loading pages.

What I know:

  • This only happens when I’m connected to my home’s WiFi (everywhere else is fine)
  • restoring doesn’t fix the problem
  • when the pages stop loading doing a Speedtest will give normal speed readings
  • every other non apple device (PC, TV etc) works just fine.
  • contacting my internet provider to see if there was any problem on their side didn’t change the situation.
  • this happens in every app
  • when this happens disconnecting and reconnecting fixes the problem for a couple of minutes (sometimes less).

I’ve tried restoring my iPhone and the router, changing DNS, separating SSID for 5Ghz and 2,4Ghz, but nothing has worked so far for more than 10 minutes. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix it please let me know. Thanks in advance

Given the age of the iPhone and the things you have tried for troubleshooting, I would have thought it would be an issue with the phone. However, you say that it works fine everywhere but on your home network. Is this router separate from the modem for your ISP, or are they combined? If your ISP is saying that evreything is okay on their side (check and re-check), I would try and contact your modem-router manufacturer's support team, asking them if there is a new firmware you need to download, or a particular setting that could be involved.

If nothing changes, a would try also to "restore to factory settings" your modem router. If that doesn't help, perhaps that device (wifi section) could have a hardware glitch.

Regards and best of luck.
