I'm new to mac and I can't seem to find the app anywhere for me to download the app. What do I need to do?

I am not sure which app you are talking about. Your post does not indicate a specific app. I am therefore assuming that you are looking for a place to download apps. That is done through the App Store.

Top Left Corner of your screen, you will see a black Apple Symbol. Click on it and you should see a choice to get to the App Store. Once you are there in the App Store then you will be fine navigating through it and looking for apps that interest you. Thanks.

The Apple TV app is a component of macOS Catalina.

If you want to use Apple TV+ with a previous version of macOS, go to Apple TV+ - Apple.
