i have got a-lot of documents on my computer and some of them are saying that they are un readable and the documents have like a ~$ at the start of them i dont know if this is because i uploaded it to google drive because i had a new laptop and needed them documents.

What kind of documents uploaded to Google Drive? Files copied onto your drive from another non-Apple cloud service? Have you run any file recovery software lately in an attempt to retrieve deleted files?
