restoring documents to my sidebar

Barnie-15 who is an Apple expert at providing answers to questions here. On my Macbook Pro 16 inch with Monterrey OS I lost my documents in documents sidebar. He gave a solution to someone else that solved the problem. I doing so he noted some caveats about popups that appear along the way that would have dissuaded someone from taking several steps and he was correct. Well done! I did this and it worked except that I had some documents that would not be restored. Error messages of certain types were posted Was wondering if anything can be done about that?
