iPhone 11 Pro Max screen just stopped working - no fix
On the flight over for our main annual holiday, my iPhone 11 Pro Max touch screen failed, literally just stopped working. One moment during the flight it was fine, the next it just wouldn’t respond. Physical buttons continued to work fine, could see the display just fine as always, the single issue was just the touch screen. No damage to the screen or case, wasn’t dropped or anything.
I tried force rebooting it (volume up, volume down, push home button in until it restarts with Apple logo), made no difference, did this several times in fact. In the end I had to take it into a local tech shop where we are on holiday and for a price, they hooked it up to a Mac and reinstalled the software through iTunes back to factory settings. Thought this would work, but no such luck.
Thus, it would appear there is some hardware issue. I wondered if anyone else came up against this issue and if there was a fix? Or else it’s waiting until I’m back home and off to the repair centre.
I’m really peeved and upset to be honest. I bought the phone a month ago (upgraded) specifically to use the new camera 11 pro features for taking great video and photos of family and the kids / scenery - Left my SLR at home for the first time too. No physical memories to take home this time, so really upsetting.
Phone gave no warning or indication that it would just stop working - Seems very odd, had iPhones for years, never had anything like this happen to me before.
Did try contacting Apple support, but no Apple tech place within 500 miles of this destination! Anyone else ever see this in the new 11 Pro Max?
