Because it’s several years old Apple sparingly adds a new app to ATV 3 and does not publish a list of the apps ATV 3 includes. Will someone who uses an ATV 3 confirm whether or not it includes YouTube TV or Hulu TV?
We recently cut the cord, but, if ATV 3 includes Hulu TV or YouTube TV (as oppose to just the Hulu and YouTube apps), the ATV 3 will permit reception of either of their full channel listings.

To elaborate on the above. The 3rd gen only has 'channels' that are sent via server and does not have native apps. Everything you see on your menu is all that is available. That model is over 7 years old and has long been discontinued. Apple has chosen to still support it through firmware updates and provide a server version of their TV app but Amazon was the last 3rd party provider to push out a version for this model, back in 2016.
Hulu shows that the 3rd gen can only run their classic interface, while the 4th gen and 4K are required to access the other features like Live TV and add ons.

appletv 3g does not have apps as such
the "apps" they have are on apples servers and users can only hide them if they dont wish to see them
last time they did an update for 3rd party stuff was amazon prime, doubt they will be adding more for the old 3g model
you can suggest they do or complain using their feedback channel
Apple TV doesn't have a browser so that was never an option. As above, live TV is not available for Hulu on the 3rd gen ATV.
I read that youtube.com/TV, which was the interface you could type in the URL into a smart TV or other device browser to get, was killed by youtube last september. I dont know anything about HULU on the apple TV 3 .
