Latest Mail app update has filters I can't seem to turn off?

I almost never use anything but iPad to check my home email. The latest update of Mail mail app for iPad has filters set automatically to “show only unread” which I can’t seem to turn off. It is surely an oversight because we all at times need to see a message we already read. Anyone know how to turn this filter off or are we left to hope they fix it in the next rev? Thanks.
