Hi jefffromoregon,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! I understand you have a concern regarding the Wi-Fi icon on your iPhone 11. I'd like to help.

It sounds like you are referring to the Wi-Fi icon near the battery icon in the status bar, which represents your Wi-Fi strength. Is that correct? When you navigate to Settings > Wi-Fi, does it show you are successfully connected to your network? Are you able to browse the internet via Wi-Fi without issue?

There are a few steps listed below that I would like you to try. Be sure to check if your Wi-Fi icon returns after each step, before moving to the next.

-Turn off any VPN connection you might use on your phone: Use VPN on iPhone - Apple Support.

-Disable/Disconnect, or Uninstall any third-party applications related to security software or private browsing/optimization. i.e. CloudFlare 1.1.1.1, Lookout, Telegram, WeChat, Fing, etc.

-Restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support.

-Make sure you are on the latest iOS version: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.

Let me know how this goes for you. Regards.
