duplicate contacts

I have random contacts that have duplicated, and they are on my Iphone and in Icloud, but don't show up duplicated in Outlook. If I go to Icloud and delete one of the duplicates, the 2nd goes away too! What is going on?!?!

Hello michellefromvestavia,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I understand you have duplicate contacts stored in iCloud.

It sounds like your contacts are being synced by both Outlook and iCloud, and that iCloud is importing your Outlook contacts.

Let's toggle contacts off for your Outlook account, then check to see if the duplicates are still present.

  1. "Go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts.
  2. Tap the Outlook account.
  3. Turn off Contacts, then tap Delete from My iPhone."

We'll then check to see if the duplicates have been removed.

You'll find these steps and additional information via the resource linked below.

Have a good one!
