Thumbnail Image Corruption in Apple Photos with Sony ARW (RAW) files?

Hi All,

I'm seeing a similar issue to this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7768599?answerId=31036951022#31036951022 Screenshot of the image corruption:

But, this issue has only manifested with images from my Sony A7RIV camera ARW files (the issue does not reproduce with images taken on my iPhone, or Canon T2i).

The corruption does go away when entering edit mode (or rotating the image and then rotating back). But, then after closing Photos and re-opening the app the corruption appears again. Hinting that it is an issue with the way thumbnails are being displayed or generated?

Does anyone have any suggestions for resolving this? Below is my software/hardware setup:

What Sony camera/model are these from? You can verify that they are compatible with your system by holding down the Option key, going to the  menu and selecting System Information. Then go down to the RAW Support section under Software in the sidebar. If your camera is there it's officially supported.

Thank you for the swift reply Old Toad! It is a Sony A7R IV (also know as a SONY ILCE-7RM4) which is listed under RAW support in my System Information and under the Catalina support page: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210191

Since I don't shoot or user RAW files I'm at the end of my rope as far as assistance is concerned. Post a reply in the topic above and injure a link to this topic so leonié, who's the most knowledgable in that area, will see it and come here to help.
