Receive iMessage copy on email

Hi,

My intension is to get a copy of iMessage/Text message to my email from my kids phone.

Note: My iPhone and kids iPhone use different apple ID's

Here are the steps I took,

  1. I added my email to my kids iPhone (Settings -> AppleId -> Name, Phone Numbers, Email section)
  2. I went to Settings -> Messages --> Send & Receive and selected my email that I added in 'You can receive imessages to and reply from' and verified my email with code sent from Apple.

I am still not getting any copy of the messages on my email if my kids phone receives a message. How to solve this?

Any alternatives?

Hello, nsmyphone!

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! I understand you are having issues receiving iMessages from your child's phone. I am here to help.

In this case, the feature you are referring to is to receive iMessages to a device that has your Apple ID email registered to. The messages would not go to your email. They would go to your Messages app as an iMessage. If you have an iPhone and are not receiving the iMessages you can review this resource to find out what to do If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

I hope this helps and you have a great day.

Cheers!
