Secondary IP address on iPad
I've researched this in the forums and find another similar question with no solution. Is it possible on an Apple IOS devices (iPhone, iPad) to set a secondary IP address on an interface?
Here's my scenario:
I'm configuring a bunch of IP addressable devices in the field. They have a preconfigured APIPA IP address in the 169.254.0.0/16 address range. Currently, I connect to the devices with a laptop via a web browser to configure the addressing and other options. On the laptop ethernet interface, I have two addresses configured...one in the 169.254.0.0/16 network and another in the 10.80.0.0/21 network that the device will be on after I configure it via the browser. With this setup, I don't have to keep changing the IP address back and forth on the ethernet interface.
Using DHCP or other auto addressing mechanisms is unfortunately not an option.
I'm considering purchasing a lightning to wired ethernet adapter to use my iPad for this work instead of my laptop. But only if I can setup a scenario as described above. I need to be able to set a secondary IP address on the interface.
Thanks in advance...
